Kahuna Mist is the creation of Gaylyn Aitken. She's been a full time massage and Bodywork therapist since the early 1990's. She trained at the Institute for Applied Sciences in Brisbane where she learnt Remedial Massage and Aromatherapy. In 1997 she began her Kahuna Sciences training in Hawai'i with Abraham Kawai'i, Kahuna. From him she learnt how to apply the logic of principle to her understanding of human function and has since studied Bio Mechanics with Katey Bowman and Psoas with Liz Koch.
At Kahuna Mist you can not only experience transformational bodywork but also learn how to align your body with gravity and earth rebound to adjust the structural support of your bones and release the muscular tension responsible for pain and discomfort not only in the skeletal muscles but also free up space for the organs to function fluidly.
Kahuna Bodywork is the foundation of all the treatments available at Kahuna Mist. It's a style of bodywork developed by Kahu (Abraham Kawai'i) in the 1960's as a way to reset a persons nervous system and improve circulation. The benefits can be experienced on all levels, physical, emotional and energetically.
The uniqueness of Kahuna Mist is expressed in the philosophy it's grounded upon....'it's not what we do, but how we do it'. Kahuna Mist offers resolution of tension and it's associated manifestations through bodywork and also how to change the reason for that tension in their Aligned Movement classes.
We don't try to 'fix' you, rather we focus upon resetting and realigning your body to awaken your natural self healing and self righting responses.
